Performance Journey Goes Dutch: a retrospective

News

Next Learning Valley was there: Performance Journey Goes Dutch. Performance Journey trips are organized for L&D practitioners, trainers and HR professionals. Think of it as a study trip. To Florida, for example. Or - more or less thanks to corona - to Ermelo.

Our senior implementation expert Hans Ramaker gave a presentation at the Heerlickheijd: a beautiful hotel and conference center on the Veluwe. "For many organizations, it is quite a challenge to implement a new vision of learning with an associated learning platform or Learning Suite," Hans explained. "From Next Learning Valley, I like to help those companies with that. We think along with the whole team and try to involve as many employees as possible in the implementation at an early stage. Nice to tell about that on Performance Journey Goes Dutch!"

Program

From workflow learning to performance support at McKinsey and from a book presentation to customer cases, the three days of Performance Journey Goes Dutch were well filled. With live workshops as well as virtual workshops. "Interesting to hear how large companies (think Walmart or McDonalds) make enormous impact with a small intervention," summarizes NLV founder François Walgering.

"Besides meeting learning gurus, it was great to hear that more and more companies are actually implementing the new vision of learning - in which a Learning Suite plays a central role," Hans adds. "It is clear that the tasks of L&D in this area are changing. And that in turn ensures that employees can be trained better and faster for the changing tasks the world demands."

Networking, networking, networking

The program was extensive and offered many opportunities to properly show our faces again after two years of digital cooperation. François says: "As one of the sponsors of this event, it is extra nice to see and speak to the driven professionals from the field live again. The program was well filled with knowledge sessions, but also the moments outside of it - such as breakfast, lunch and drinks - are valuable moments for networking."

Hans concludes, "I completely agree with this. And I am very curious what influence the new vision of learning will have on future events. I look forward to it!"
